Ministry of Sport and Tourism

Established in its current form in 2021, the ministry is responsible for promoting sports and physical activity, as well as developing Polish tourism.

The main task of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism is to promote physical activity and sports. For this purpose, a long-term strategy for the development of Polish sports is being implemented, based on a coherent training pyramid.

One of the foundations of this strategy is universal sport. The ministry runs many programs aimed at supporting sports clubs and associations, through subsidies and grants for the purchase of equipment, remuneration of coaches or the organization of sports events. The aim of these programs is to reach all age groups, with particular emphasis on the youngest.

The ministry is also responsible for issues related to tourism, including tourist infrastructure. Programs are currently being conducted to make tourism easier for people with special needs – this applies especially to attractions located in mountainous regions.
The Office of the Minister of Sport and Tourism also supervises sports associations and federations – including the activities of the Polish Automobile Association. The Ministry also actively supports top-level sports events – including car rallies, such as the Polish Rally, which is part of the FIA WRC series, or the Silesian Rally, which is part of the FIA European Rally Championship.
