History of the Rally Silesia
The 2023 Rally Silesia, scheduled for 8-10 September, is organised by the Foundation of Automobilists in cooperation with the Automobilklub Ziemi Tyskiej (Automobile Club of Tychy Land). The competition is a continuation of the successful and highly rated editions of the Mikołowski Rally and the Mikołowsko-Żorski Rally, i.e. events of the rank of a district rally, held as part of the Silesia Rally Championship. The activities of the Automobile Club of Tychy Land were appreciated by the authorities of the Polish Motor Association (PZM), which in 2017 entrusted the Automobile Club of Tychy Land with the ambitious task of organising one of the rounds of the Polish Rally Championship.
In 2023, the Automobile Club of Tychy Land was celebrating its 20th anniversary. The crowning achievement of this anniversary was the addition of the Rally Silesia to the international FIA European Rally Trophy series. This year, the organizers went a step further – this year’s round will be part of the FIA European Championship (FIA ERC).
In this year’s edition of the Rally Silesia, the competitors fighting for points in the Polish championship will also traditionally take part, and the super stages will also be competed by drivers and co-drivers contesting for the titles in the Silesia Rally Championship, the Southern Rally Championship as well as by teams in beautiful historic cars from years ago, who race as part of the Poland Historic Rally Championship.
The partner of the Rally Silesia is the Silesian Voivodeship. The base of the rally, as in previous years, is the Silesian Stadium.
